Audiovisual storytelling workshops for young Cambodians, in collaboration with Sa Sa Art Projects in Phnom Penh.
Over recent decades, many historic buildings in Phnom Penh have been transformed or demolished during successive waves of urban development. The White Building was one of the structures that continued to resist this transition. Aware of its unique history and the uncertain future of its community, Sa Sa Art Projects worked with Big Stories Co. to create an online archive documenting the neighbourhood’s living history.
Under the supervision of Australian producer Martin Potter and Sa Sa Art Projects director Lyno Vuth, I taught audiovisual storytelling to a group of ten students aged between 18 and 24. During the programme, we produced a series of films and photo stories.
